Offered for your consideration is this nice antique bronze from Japan. It has the name Asahi Shimbun
(朝日新聞) on top decorated with bamboo leaves. Appear to be a paper weight. 6 inches long and 7/8 inches wide. Weighs 289.2 grams. Nice condition, seeing aged patina. The high points are shinny and you can see how finely rated it is. Nice historical memorabilia.
Asahi Shimbun was founded in the late 1800s and I believe this piece was made in the early years of last century, about 100 years old by now.
