It works in the sense that it will play a tape and audio and video are being sent to the TV. However, the tracking doesn't hold and the video is choppy. It may be an issue with the tape I tested it with, I don't have another one. I cleaned the heads and they seem to be working properly. There may be a tracking control issue.
